Which First Look is for you?

A first look done before the ceremony is often one of the photographer’s favorite moments to capture as it’s a time to document the initial reaction of the couple and it allows them to act naturally when seeing each other for the first time.  They can cry, laugh, hug, exchange their  first kiss and just be in the moment without having all their guests around them.

This 15 minute moment  provides beautiful unique pictures of a very tender intimate time during their special day.

The first look is one of the best ways to avoid some of the wedding day jitters. Since the couple already have the emotional part of seeing each other for the first time, they usually feel more relaxed and calm walking down the aisle and exchanging their vows.

When the first look is done before the ceremony, the photographer is able to co-ordinate and control the scene as oppose to working with what’s available at the ceremony such as the background and harsh lighting.

Photos of the couple are usually followed without the interruption of the cocktail hour, wedding planner or guests wanting to congratulate them. This time allows the photographer to be more creative as more time is allocated.

Although the moments of a first look are very priceless, some couples prefer to wait  to save their first look while walking done the aisle when all the focus is on them.  They prefer to share each other’s reaction and admiration for each other with their family and friends.  They also prefer to share their first kiss when they have officially tied the knot.

A first look done during the ceremony is quicker and less intimate for a photographer to capture.  However, capturing the tears of the spouse to be waiting at the end of the aisle is often a photo that is selected for the wedding album because it is a moment they want to cherish forever.

Whether the first look is right for you or not, your day will end up being special whatever option you choose.
